Associate Professor, Program Director
Dr Alismail is a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and an Associate Professor of Cardiopulmonary Sciences and Medicine at LOMA LINDA UNIVERSITY (LLU). He works as a program director of the entry-level bachelor of science in respiratory care and master of science in respiratory care programs at LLU.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree from LLU in Respiratory Care and completed his graduate work (MA and PhD) in Education from Claremont Graduate University.
He serves in various key leadership roles in the American college of chest physicians (CHEST), American association of respiratory care (AARC), American thoracic society (ATS), and American College for Respiratory Therapy Education, and American Board of Internal Medicine [ABIM] pulmonary disease board. Dr Alismail also serves as an editorial board member and associate editor of several peer review journals. In addition, he published many peer review papers in the areas of respiratory care, medical education, asthma, innovation, and critical care. Due to his scholarship, leadership, and education in the fields of pulmonary and critical care medicine and medical education., Dr Alismail has been named and inducted as a fellow of CHEST, AARC, and ATS.
As an educator, his passion and interest are within health professions education, clinical studies, and innovation. He was also part of the California state and national champion team of the 2011 Sputum Bowl competition in Respiratory Care at the AARC. Dr. Alismail enjoys traveling, sports and reading about history of civilizations, cultures, and comparative religions.
