Dr. Ta earned her master’s and post-professional doctoral degrees in occupational therapy from Loma Linda University. She is an occupational therapist and educator with clinical experience spanning neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations. Her background includes neonatal and pediatric intensive care, acute care, outpatient rehabilitation, neurological and orthopedic rehabilitation, cardiac care, and community-based practice.
Dr. Ta’s work with diverse and historically underserved populations has shaped her commitment to equitable, trauma-informed, and client-centered care. Her doctoral work focused on promoting health equity and increasing awareness of occupational therapy’s role in supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
She has completed advanced training through the USC Chan Sensory Integration Continuing Education Certificate Program and holds certifications in swallowing assessment, evaluation, and intervention; neonatal touch and massage; infant massage; and trauma-informed care. She is also a California Children’s Services paneled provider.
As an educator, Dr. Ta helps students connect foundational knowledge with clinical practice and build confidence in their roles as future practitioners. Her professional interests include orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation, critical care and ICU recovery, neonatal and infant development, women’s health, and emerging areas of occupational therapy. Through teaching, mentorship, and service, she prepares future occupational therapists to think critically, practice with compassion, advocate for equitable care, and empower individuals and communities to participate in the occupations that matter most to them.
