Yasmin Martinez-Pereira, MOT, OTR/L is a dedicated pediatric occupational therapist with a deep passion for helping others. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge in 2006, and later completed her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Loma Linda University in 2017. Yasmin’s commitment to service began at a young age and has shaped her career path. Prior to becoming an occupational therapist, Yasmin served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 8 years as a medic. Through the military she developed strong skills in patient care and a deep sense of compassion for others. After her time in the military, she devoted ten years to working as an Occupational Therapy Aide in the Rehabilitation Services Department at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Her experience opened up the beauty of rehabilitation and the importance of therapeutic interventions for people of all ages. After graduating with her masters, Yasmin found a passion for children leading her to spend five years with the Promoting Learning Activities for the Young (P.L.A.Y.) clinic, offering home health early intervention services to primarily Spanish-speaking families in Los Angeles County. Her previous experiences, knowledge, and passion led Yasmin to the Interdisciplinary Community Outreach Clinic at Loma Linda University in 2023, where she now focuses on providing occupational therapy services to children from birth to 5 years old in San Bernardino County. With over a decade of experience in pediatric care, Yasmin is committed to serving children and families, particularly those in underserved communities. Her diverse background and dedication to helping others have shaped her approach to occupational therapy, where she believes in the value of everyday life skills and the impact they have on a child’s development and well-being.
