Jonnie Galvin obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business and Management from the University of Redlands and worked in management, employee development, and HR. She held a passion for helping at-risk populations though volunteer and disaster relief work by coming alongside others to rebuild the broken places left in the wake of hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy, Joplin tornado, and the 2010 hurricane in Haiti. After realizing the depth of the need in vulnerable populations she left her business career to become an occupational therapist. She has worked in skilled nursing, school based, early intervention, and community based practice. She has consistently worked closely with children that have experienced early childhood adverse events in the foster care system. She has presented for OTAC and Children’s Network on how occupational therapists can address childhood trauma holistically on a multidisciplinary team and regularly works in the capacity of clinical educator and mentor.
