The Health Information Informatics (HII) program at Loma Linda University prepares students for meaningful careers at the intersection of healthcare and technology. As the demand for healthcare grows, so does the need for HII professionals. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects a 28% growth in HII-related jobs between 2022 and 2032, which is much faster than the average for all occupations!

Applicants who have graduated from this program are eligible to sit for the registered health information administrator (RHIA) exam.

To prepare our graduates to be competent health information professionals through excellence in classroom instruction, professional practice experience, advisement, and mentoring with an emphasis on global service.
Any student interested in the internship will be required to receive approval from their academic advisor, submit an application, and follow all HR processes. Students accepted and hired into the internship are required to register for an additional academic course to track their training progress, attend weekly virtual meetings, and set aside a minimum of 2-4 workday hours per week for their remote work hours. It is the responsibility of the student intern to arrange their work and personal schedules to meet these requirements.
