Debbie Hamada, EdD, MA, RHIA

Health Informatics, Information Management, and Administration Department Chair, Associate Professor

Dr. Debra Hamada serves as an Associate Professor and Chair for the Loma Linda University HIIMA Department and the Division of Preprofessional Studies. She teaches in the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management, the Master of Science in Health Informatics programs, and the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) programs.

Pauline Calla Cabanada, MBA, RHIA

Assistant Professor

Pauline Calla Cabanada has been a full-time faculty at Loma Linda University for over a decade. She received her Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration from LLU-School of Allied Health Professions in 2005 and her Master in Business Administration from LLU School of Public Health in 2009. Pauline is an Assistant Professor and the Program Director for the Bachelor of Science program in the Department of Health Informatics and Information Management.

Terri Rouse, MA, RHIA

Assistant Professor

Terri Rouse is an Assistant Professor and has been a faculty member in the Department of Health Informatics and Information Management since the summer of 2000.  While earning two undergraduate degrees, she had the opportunity of working in a Health Information department.  Her introduction to this “obscure” profession led to the pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Administration from Loma Linda University.

Ryan E. Stephan, MAM, RHIA, CCS

Assistant Professor

Ryan Stephan is an assistant professor for the Department of Health Informatics and Information Management at Loma Linda University. Ryan serves as the program director of the Coding Specialist certificate program and teaches several courses in the Bachelor of Science in Health Information Administration and Master of Science in Health Informatics programs, as well as Financial Management for the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration (BSHA) program.

Braden Tabisula, MBA, RHIA, CHDA

Assistant Professor

Braden Tabisula is an Assistant Professor at Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California, and is currently Program Coordinator of the Health Informatics, MS program. He completed his baccalaureate studies at Loma Linda University in Health Information Management, and his MBA from the University of Redlands in Redlands, California. Currently, Tabisula is enrolled as a PhD student at Claremont Graduate University in the Computer Information Systems and Technology program.

Program Director, Associate Professor

Dr. Lavin Williams is a full-time faculty member and Program Director for the Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration Program, positions she has held since the program’s inception in 2010. Her healthcare industry background spans over 25 years. She has skillfully held a variety of positions with emphasis in sports medicine, allied health, healthcare administration, health education, emotional intelligence and executive and wellness coaching.

Assistant Professor

Laura Evans is the Assistant Program Director for the Bachelors of Science in Healthcare Administration program. She teaches a number of classes in the program.  She also mentors students with their Signature Projects and assists with student recruitment, marketing, and other program administration.

Rosa McNally is the Administrative Assistant to the Health Informatics, Information Management, and Administration Department.  She received her Bachelor of Business Administration from National University, San Diego, CA. Her main responsibility is administrative support to Department Chair, Program Directors, Faculty, and Students.
