How do I register for classes?
Medical Center employees whose department will pay for the course: register online at the OWL Portal.
Students, volunteers, employees needing reimbursement or non-employees: required to pay the course fees. Register and pay at the CE Portal with a credit or debit card.
Loma Linda University Health Care employees: contact Brandi Evans at 909-558-2550 to register.
Where can we park?
You are able to park in Lot X or Shepardson Lot. If you are a medical center employee you can park in the parking structure. Non employees/students can park in Lot X Shepardson Lot or at the Loma Linda Market. (2 hour parking)
What payment methods are accepted for books, cards and other items at your office?

Employees: NO SHOWS will be automatically charged to your department. Future courses will be the financial responsibility of the employee.
Do I get CEU/CME/ICEMA credits?
California Medical Association (CME), California Board of Nursing (CEU), have approved ACLS and PALS provider courses for 16 units and renewal courses for 8 units. PEARS has been approved for 8 CE Units. No CE Units are available for BLS and First Aid - If your licensing board allows 4 units for BLS courses. CME Category 1. CEP No. 100403. California CEP No. 62-0004.
Are the books required for the classes?
Books are required for attending all American Heart Association (AHA) courses. Married couples are allowed to share manuals. Books are for sale in our office for the classes we currently offer.
I lost my card; what do I do?
Cards are electronic now, please visit the AHA website to view or obtain copy of eCard. For additional questions, please call 909-558-4977.
What if I arrive late?
Class starts promptly at the scheduled times. Anyone late by more than 15 minutes will be asked to re-schedule.
What are the remediation and retake test fees?

How can I avoid failing?
Read the required book for the course you are completing prior to class. Completing the self assessment for advanced courses may be helpful as well. Refer to your student book for the website and code to access the self assessment.
What cards are accepted?
Only current American Heart Association cards are accepted.
When should I schedule to take a class?
Register as soon as possible to ensure class availability.
When do I get my cards?
Upon successful completion of course, your AHA card will be emailed 24-48 hours after completion.
When do I get my refund?
If you registered on the CE Portal, contact Staff Development to process a refund.
What do I need to bring to class?
- Bring current books
- Advance Courses: Bring printed results from self-assessment/pre-test
- ACLS: www.heart.org/eccstudent passcode: acls15
- PALS: www.heart.org/eccstudent passcode: pals15
- Proof of current AHA ACLS and PALS must be presented on the day of update/renewal course
What is the difference between a Provider course and an Updated course?
A Provider course is for anyone who has not previously taken any life support classes. If you have a current AHA card that is expiring soon, register for the Update course to renew your cards. However if your cards are more than thirty (30) days expired, you must register for a Provider course.
Can I take BLS the same day Im taking ACLS/PALS?
Yes you can add BLS onto your class when signing in the day of the course.
